The Number 1 way to change your life – Belief

Belief

I’m sure you will have heard or seen these quotes or many like them before.  How often though have you sat down and seriously thought about these statements.  Do you genuinely believe that you can achieve your hopes and dreams if you work hard enough or do you believe that some things really are “IMPOSSIBLE”?

Impossible

I personally don’t believe things are “impossible”, oh don’t get me wrong there are a lot of things I don’t believe I will personally achieve because:-

  • I don’t have the physical or mental skills
  • I’m not prepared to put the effort in to achieve these things or learn the skills needed
  • I just don’t value that task or activity and consider my time better spent elsewhere

Let’s illustrate the point

When I say I don’t personally believe things are impossible I say this because the world we live in is constantly changing, new technological advances are being made every day, research is going on all around us and new discoveries are being made.

 

In the last 20 years alone we have seen massive changes, here are just a few:-

  • Mobile phones
  • Internet
  • Laptops, tablets, smart watches
  • Drones
  • 3 D printers
  • Driverless cars (relatively new and still in development!)

Who would have predicted that it was possible to have a telephone call via internet technology 20 years ago…..

 

People could have said it was impossible to ever have a telephone small enough to hold in your hand, that you could make a call from, pretty much from anywhere in the world.  No need to find a call box.  Who would have believed that you could from that same device, send email, text people, take photographs and play games or surf the internet……but someone worked tirelessly to make it happen.

 

They said you would drop down dead

Back in 1954 all the research showed that man could never break the 4 minute barrier by running a mile in less than 4 minutes.  It was banded about that it was “impossible” and if you tried you would die, your heart could explode. 

 

Prior to 1954 everyone believed this and no one had ever achieved it, but Roger Bannister back in 1954 didn’t accept this and he had belief that it could be done, but even more importantly belief in himself and he set about training and sure enough in 1954 he ran the first ever 4 minute mile.

 

Funnily in the next 12 months dozens of others did it too because by then they too believed that it could be done.

 

The research psychology of performance has proven that there is a definitive link between the mind and the body and what you think and believe will affect how you perform and thus shape your entire life.

 

What you think and believe about yourself will manifest in reality!

Business

Your business and your ability to make changes is down to the “mindset” you have on a daily basis, if you believe you will find a way to make it happen.  Don’t get me wrong it won’t necessarily be easy but you will figure out a way.

 

Start believing in yourself, invest in you and that hard work and effort will pay off.
